Daimler Trucks North America was recently honored with a Good Design award for 2017, recognizing the excellence in design innovation found in the Freightliner New Cascadia.
The Good Design awards are presented yearly by the Chicago Atheneum Museum of Architecture and Design and Metropolitan Arts Press Ltd, and are given to the most cutting-edge designs in over two-dozen categories from around the world. Considered one of the most prestigious design awards, they began as an exhibition in 1950 – a collaboration between the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Merchandise Mart, a Chicago wholesale merchandising center.
Daimler has emphasized the design and power in this class 8 truck, with state-of-the-art connected vehicle services, active safety systems, maximum driver comfort and ergonomics, and multiple sleeper cab options.
Martin Kreidl, design director for Daimler Trucks North America: “Every detail of the new Cascadia was carefully conceived to provide the best possible experience for drivers… We’re honored that the Good Design jury selected the new Cascadia, and are pleased they recognized our team’s thoughtful approach and forward-thinking, driver-centric innovations.”
